Presentation given at the 54th NCS-Demokritos Summere School, July 2019
Abstract
The main issues regarding materials to be used in future fusion energy production systems will be discussed. These include basically radiation damage and transmutation element production due to fusion neutron irradiation. The current status and outlook of international and European fusion materials research will be presented. The relevant research carried out at NCSR-D will also be reported.
