Dr. E. Manios is a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute for Nuclear and Radiological Science and Technology, Energy and Safety (INRASTES) of NCSR “DEMOKRITOS”. He is is a member of the “Fusion Technology Group” with Dr K. Mergia as scientific responsible, where he is working in the framework of the European Consortium for the Development of Fusion Energy. Before 2019 he was a research associate at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INN) of NCSR “DEMOKRITOS”.

He received his PhD in Solid State Physics and Materials Science in 2011 from the National Technical University of Athens, Department of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences. PhD thesis title: “Preparation and Characterization of Materials for Use in the New Generation Magnetic Recording Media”. He received his MSc in Solid State Physics and Materials Science in 2003 from the National Technical University of Athens, Department of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences. He received his BSc in Physics in 2000 from the National University of Athens, Department of Physics.

He has worked for several research projects: “Magnetoelectric Materials in Reconfigurable Antennas – MAGELLAN” (2013-2015), “Magnetically Assisted Hemodialysis: Ferromagnetic Nanoparticles for Removal of Toxins” (Study No. 0901 of Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, 2012), “Combining innovative portable VISUAL, ACOUSTIC, MAGNETIC, and NMR methods, with in-situ CHEMICAL diagnostic tools for effective failure assessment and maintenance strategy of RAIL and subway system – DIAGNO-RAIL” (2011-2012), “Terabit Magnetic Storage Technologies – TERAMAGSTOR” (2008-2010).

He has published 28 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 2 book chapters, 1 book and authored 14 technical reports for research projects. Citations 329, h-index 11 (data from SCOPUS database).

His research topics refer to radiation damage studies of FeCr alloys and W materials for fusion energy applications employing resistivity and magnetic measurements, magnetic oxides with magnetoelectric properties, superconductor/ferromagnet hybrid systems, magnetic recording and metallic thin films with magnetic properties.
