Dr. Marilia I. Savva is a Post-doctoral researcher at the Fusion Technology Group (https://ftg.demokritos.gr/), of the Institute of Nuclear and Radiological Sciences, Technology, Energy & Safety at NCSR ‘Demokritos’, Athens, Greece, since 2017, working for the European Project of Thermonuclear Fusion (EUROfusion - https://www.euro-fusion.org/), focusing on experimental measurements and neutronic calculations for fusion reactors, neutron activation analysis experiments and gamma spectrometry. Her scientific interests include also computations studies using Monte Carlo techniques for the simulation of radiation fields. She graduated from the School of Mechanical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens in 2009 with grade 8.31/10 and she obtained her PhD from the same University in 2017 entitled “Development and implementation of techniques for the determination of very low activities of radioactive trace elements in environmental samples”. For her research she received the 1st Metrology Award from the HellasLab Association. She is the main author or co-author of 17 publications in scientific journals, 18 contributions in conference proceedings and 11 technical reports.
